AMA have two
petrol multicutters in their range the MC 280 and the MC
350, both with two stroke engines. The MC 280 having a 26cc engine
and it's more powerful sibling a 33cc engine. At mowermart we need product
knowledge if we are to recommend the best products for your garden.
Therefore, we "borrowed" a multicutter and corresponding hedge
trimmer attachment and set about finding a suitable test location. We did
just that, with a couple of rather unkempt hedges that would give the AMA
multicutter a good workout.
Bob, our resident expert had the task of actually conducting the test. His
comments were:
"I was very
pleasantly surprised, the multicutter and attachment pieced together fairly
easily, there was no problem starting and the machine performed well considering
the heavy growth on the hedges. Cutting ability was good and it was a simple
task to change the angle of the hedge trimmer for hedge tops. In hindsight,
I could have used an extension pole on the tallest hedge (some four metres
or so) although the 2550mm reach of the multicutter did the job.
I found the Q-Loop to be a little low and kept using the shaft, but I could
get used to the handle position.
Overall I would recommend the AMA multicutter as any comparable product
is considerably dearer" |
