Single sided hedge trimmers are designed especially for straight sections of hedge. The hedge trimmer's design makes it easier for you to cut straight. Since there are only teeth on one side of the cutting bar, you can have longer blades without the machine becoming too heavy. The longer blade lets you clip larger areas in a single sweep.
The machine's centre of gravity is located somewhat closer to the body, compared to double-sided models, which makes it easier and more flexible to use. However, you should still give consideration to the weight of the hedge trimmer. A lighter model will be easier to handle.
